Frequently Asked Questions
Retrieval grounding is the main defence: the agent answers from retrieved passages and cites them, rather than generating from memory. We add explicit instructions to decline when the answer isn't in the source material, and an evaluation set that specifically tests refusal behaviour. It reduces hallucination substantially — we won't claim it eliminates it, and we design escalation paths for that reason.
Usually Claude or GPT via API, chosen per use case. We build so the model is swappable, because the landscape moves quickly and you shouldn't have to rebuild to change provider.
We agree this explicitly before building — what gets sent to the model provider, what's retained, and where embeddings are stored. Vector databases can run in your own infrastructure if you need data to stay in your environment.
Evaluation sets scored before launch, plus logging and periodic review afterwards. If we can't define what a correct answer looks like for your use case, that's a signal the use case needs narrowing first.
